Jem Musselwhite has spent over four decades in the construction industry from his earliest days following in his father's footsteps, working on building sites gaining a range of experience, being awarded technical and professional qualifications to the present day work as a Chartered Building Engineer and Surveyor.

Building Design Services
Jem deals with the preparation of building plans for local authority approval for new dwellings, extensions, alterations and loft conversions. With over four decades of experience, Jem assists many clients with feasibility studies for development opportunities and provides detailed reports on the development potential of residential and commercial sites.
Planning Applications
Jem will produce fully detailed Planning Drawings along with any required supporting information such as design and access statements, biodiversity check lists and photographic surveys where required, along with completion of the planning application forms and submission of the completed application to the Local Authority.
Loft Conversions
Jem can assist you with the feasibility and design of loft conversions and any other house alterations and extensions while guiding you through the process. Jem’s services can extend to the assistance with Builder selection, the preparation of contract particulars and the certification and supervision of works on site on behalf of his client if required.
Party Wall Work
The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 provides a framework for preventing and resolving disputes in relation to party walls and excavations near neighbouring buildings. Jem undertakes work in connection with the Party Wall etc Act 1996 including acting as surveyor for the building owner and/or adjoining owner.
Building Surveys & Reports
A survey is an expert inspection of the property’s condition and identifies any problems for a prospective buyer. Jem commonly undertakes building surveys and reports for clients in respect of domestic and commercial premises. A range of building surveys can be offered including pre-purchase surveys.

With over four decades of experience at all levels, Jem has an excellent understanding of all things building and is widely recognised as being a national authority on building related matters. Jem is regularly approached to undertake after-dinner and motivational speaking about his experiences in the construction industry.

Jem’s fees for professional services are recognised as being the most competitive in the area and after the first free visit to advise his prospective Client on the feasibility of a scheme Jem will submit a fixed price fee proposal for professional services full detailing involvement at each stage with a realistic cost defined against stages from concept to completion.
